jw marriott khao lak resort & spa
The undisputed benchmark for a zero-friction family resort in Khao Lak.
typically
₹12.5kper night
Khao Lak is the anti-Phuket — sleepy, low-key, focused on nature rather than nightlife. The beaches are long and empty, the national parks are lush, and the vibe is generally more family-friendly than the islands to the south. It's also a poignant reminder of the 2004 tsunami, and the community's recovery is inspiring.
the stays we’d put our own family in first.

You arrive in Khao Lak and the air smells different — pine trees and sea salt instead of exhaust and fried noodles. The beaches here aren't hidden, but they feel that way. Kilometres of sand backed by casuarina trees, the Andaman Sea a constant turquoise hum. It's a place for long walks, not jet skis.
The town is spread out, development kept low by national park status. You'll need a scooter or a car to explore properly. The main draw is nature: Khao Sok National Park with its limestone karsts and emerald lake, Similan and Surin Islands with some of the best diving in Thailand.
Khao Lak also carries a heavy history. The 2004 tsunami hit this coastline hard, and memorials are scattered throughout the area. It's a reminder of the power of nature and the resilience of the human spirit.
Come for the quiet. Come for the diving. Come to reflect. Not for party animals or those seeking high-end luxury. Best visited November to April for dry weather and calm seas.
