why umeda & kita

osaka's polished twin to namba. trains straight to kyoto and kobe.

Umeda is Osaka's other centre — more polished, more business-oriented, and connected to everything via the massive Osaka Station complex. The department stores here are excellent (Hankyu, Daimaru), the underground shopping city goes on forever, and the restaurants skew slightly more upscale than the Namba street-food scene. It is also the gateway to Kobe and Kyoto via private railways.
